The channels Mississauga families ask for first
More than half of Mississauga's residents were born outside Canada, and the requests we get reflect that. The international section is sorted by language and region so each household can go straight to its own corner of the guide:
- South Asian: Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati and Malayalam entertainment, news and devotional channels
- Middle Eastern: Arabic news and drama, plus Persian and Turkish channels
- Filipino: Tagalog news and entertainment
- European: Polish, Portuguese, Italian, Ukrainian and Croatian channels
- East Asian: Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Korean channels
- Caribbean and African: news, music and entertainment
Looking for one particular channel? Ask us before ordering and we'll check it for you.
Cricket, football and the GTA teams
Cricket has a huge following in Peel Region, and dedicated cricket channels cover international Test, ODI and T20 series as well as the major T20 leagues. Because many matches are played overnight Canadian time, catch-up on supported channels is especially useful: watch the morning after, before anyone spoils the result.
Football, meaning soccer, is just as big: European leagues, the World Cup cycle and international friendlies come in several languages. And for the local side of things, the Maple Leafs, Raptors, Blue Jays and Toronto FC are all covered through the Canadian sports networks. See our soccer guide and sports guide.
One plan for a multi-generation household
In many Mississauga homes, grandparents, parents and kids all want something different at 8 p.m. A one-screen plan won't cut it. Multi-screen plans give each screen its own login, so a Punjabi drama in the living room, a Raptors game in the basement and cartoons on a tablet can all run at once.
| Household | Suggested plan |
|---|---|
| Couple, one TV and phones | 2 screens |
| Family with teenagers | 3 screens |
| Grandparents living with the family | 4 screens |
| Two families sharing, e.g. a basement apartment | 5 screens |
Full prices for every combination are on the plans page.
Internet in Mississauga
Rogers and Bell cover the whole city, with fibre in many neighbourhoods, and independent providers offer cheaper plans on the same networks. For a house running three or four screens at once, 100 Mbps or more is a sensible target. In semi-detached homes and townhouses with the router in the basement, the upstairs bedrooms are the usual weak spot, and a mesh Wi-Fi system is usually the fix.
Commuters on the 401 or the GO train can also use the same subscription on a phone, within your plan's screen limit. Mind your mobile data: an hour of HD uses roughly 2 to 3 GB.
